VTI will, in cooperation with KOTSA (Korea Transportation Safety Authority), arrange the international conference Road Safety on Five Continents, RS5C, on Jeju Island, South Korea, in May 16-18, 2018. The conference will be the 18th in the Road Safety series.

The “Call for Abstracts and Special Sessions” is open until April 30, 2017. The topics for the conference cover areas of extra importance for traffic safety and where interesting research is ongoing. This includes among others safety of vulnerable road users, autonomous driving and public transport. More information can be found on the conference web page.

There is a great necessity for global cooperation to stop the growth of traffic fatalities. To reverse this trend, knowledge, information and experience from success stories and good practise must be shared. RS5C is an international conference aiming at increasing road safety globally by providing a platform for this essential knowledge exchange and helping the participating countries to find a good balance between road safety and mobility.
To succeed, it is of interest for RS5C to collaborate with organisations, industry and stakeholders interested in the field of traffic safety. There are many possible ways to collaborate with RS5C and below are a few suggestions. However, it is of importance that all interested parties consider what would be of interest and useful for them.

Possible ways of collaboration:
• Participate as a speaker or delegate in the conference.
• Hold a short opening statement or keynote.
• Arrange a “Special Session”, alternatively host a workshop in conjunction with the conference.
• Participate as an exhibitor at the exhibition that will take place at the conference.
• Sponsor the conference. Could be in the form of sponsoring lunch and/or coffee, sponsor the conference reception or sponsor a keynote speaker etc.
